Poori is a traditional Indian flat bread which is fried and goes well with both salted and sweet dishes.
Ingredients:
2 cups Wheat flour1 tablespoon Yogurt
2 pinches Salt
1 tablespoon Oil
A little hot water
Directions:
Make dough with the flour, yoghurt, salt, oil and hot water.
Cover with a wet towel and leave at room temperature for half an hour. Now shape into small balls and roll into small circles.
Put the poori, cook one at a time, into the oil. As you deep fry press the poori gently into the oil. When it puffs up, turn and cook for a few more seconds before removing.
Continue until all pooris are cooked, serve immediately. This will make 12 to 16 pooris.
