Creamy dips accompanied by potato chips were standard fare at 1950's cocktail parties. This recipe has been updated with lower-fat sour cream and mayonnaise to reduce the calories.

Ingredients:

1 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
2 large green onions with tops, finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped sweet green, red or yellow pepper
2 tablespoons low-fat (1% fat) milk
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:

In a small bowl, stir together sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions, green pepper, milk, curry powder, and garlic powder. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (good for 2 days). Serve with an assortment of fresh veggies or baked chips. Makes 1.5 cups.
